Today, we are announcing an update to our Software Update Tool. It’s been a whole (long) year since we made any changes to the program – but today we are proud to release it’s first update. It’s been updated to version 1.1437 – The first update since its first release in January last year and it has come a long way since then and we are proud of the handy little tool. This update includes;
New design
Windows Installer (see below)
Uninstall option
End-user license agreement (EULA)
Smaller start-up screen
Less memory usage
Company name changed to reflect on the changes we made last year
Two new apps added to the “other app” tab *
Menu improvements with icons, developer blog and API.
Update Manager – This has been updated to version 1.5 (1.5.0) previous was out dated by 15 months, sorry!
Mirror bug fixes
General changes such as copyright year
The major update to this release is that it now includes a Windows Installer (MSI) to install the program as this makes it much easier and allows you to Uninstall the program via “Programs and Features” and adds a desktop shortcut with a start menu shortcut.
Unfortunately, at this moment in time the UploadMe for Chrome, Firefox, iOS and Android applications and extensions have all been temporary disabled while we do some maintenance work on UploadMe and transfer everything to new servers across the United Kingdom and the United States. In you need to get in touch with us click here. – For updates follow our JordanTBH Status Tumblr account.
* Current uploads are not affected – you can no longer upload any new images via any applications and extensions or via the website, you can still view and enable current uploads. Follow us on Twitter and ‘Like’ us on Facebook.
It’s probably not a surprise that English is the most popular language that our users use — but today, we published an update (v0.0.1.1721) to the Google Chrome Web Store for the My Downloads extension. My Downloads for Google Chrome is now available with loads of new languages, some minor tweaks and fixes to existing language files. It adds 19 more languages thus making a total of 24 supported languages.
Enjoy My Downloads even more by choosing from any of the following languages;
Arabic
Bulgarian
Bengali
Catalan
Czech
Danish
German
English (Great Britain) – Updated
English (USA) – Updated
Spanish
Estonian
Finnish
Filipino
French
Japanese
Korean
Portuguese (Portugal)
Russian
Chinese (China)
There are still rough spots — notably with providing the right context around the phrases to be translated, and the speed with which we get new translations out. We plan to address these and incorporate further improvements to the comprehensiveness of our translations and the ease of submitting translations.
But 24 languages is a respectable number, and evidence of the amount of (much appreciated!) effort our users have put into improving the global My Downloads experience. We’re proud of what has been accomplished so far, and excited to see My Downloads’ internationalization support expand in coverage and accuracy in the coming months.
So if you don’t see your language in the list of already available ones, or if you are not happy with the existing translations, come translate with us to make My Downloads even better!
Mario Theme 2 on Chrome Canary (c) JordanTBH Technologies
Introducing the new Mario Theme! Since releasing the first Mario Theme nearly two years ago we’ve since been flooded with questions, tweets and emails about updating the theme we originally had no plans to update the theme or even release it however, we did in July 2011 and within the first couple of weeks it reached 24,500 (crazy!) installs and that’s why today, we’re proud to tell you we’ve released Mario Theme 2, or Mario 2 as we like to call it.
We were in discussion about if we should release it as an update so people running the first version will be updated to the new version when they next launch Google Chrome. However, we believe due to this is a new ‘calm’ design we feel they might not approve the new look.
Version one was based on the colour red, the new version is based on a mixed blend of the colour grey so on that note we are releasing this as a “new” theme rather than an “update” and therefore you will need to download it again – if you choose to, of course.
Pricing and Availability
Mario 2 is available right now for Windows & Mac at no charge on the Google Chrome Web Store worldwide. Currently, not supported on Chrome for iOS or Android.
